Kayden Goes Deeper
AVN Director Of The Year Kayden Kross has directed her first DVD feature for the Vixen/Blacked/Tushy/Blacked Raw/Tushy Raw‘s brand new sister site Deeper. “Sacrosanct Now” looks fucking amazing. The images here are from Alina Lopez and Mickey Mod‘s scene in it and the movie also stars Adria Rae, Vicki Chase and Ashley Lane with AVN Hall of Famer Mick Blue and Markus Dupree. Here’s what Kross had to tell me about this great new release and what else that she has going on in her creative world.
Hello, Kayden! How are you? How are you doing? How are things in your world?
“Hi, hello. Things are great. Thanks for asking.”
First off, a huge congrats on winning the AVN Award for Director Of The Year!
How did it feel winning that? What was it like receiving that honor?
“Thank you! It didn’t feel real, actually. It still doesn’t…”
Your first Deeper release “Sacrosanct Now” is out now. How has being with Deeper/Vixen Media Group been creatively for you?
“They’ve given me the marketing and support and brand direction that I needed to start producing with intention, so it’s been fantastic. I feel like I know what I’m trying to accomplish when I come to set now…”
What is this movie about for you? What about the vignettes do you really hope resonates with viewers?
“This movie is another collection of scenes that I feel are really representative of what I want to be making when everything is hitting right. They’re tailored to the actors I’m filming and have something to say. They’re cinematically beautiful and original and a part of an ongoing experiment that I feel like I’m always engaging in with what porn can be.”
You have said that the scenes in the first “Sacrosanct” were very personal to you. How does “Sacrosanct Now” compare to that for you?
“These scenes are equally personal. This is just another chapter.”
How did you cast this release? What made you choose these performers for this?
“I cast, and then I wrote to what I knew about them. I cast based on an appreciation for the performers as performers who really bring something to the screen.”
How has your porn become evolved since Deeper became a thing for you?
“For the better, I hope.”
What is inspiring you most these days? What is moving you?
“I’m finding inspiration in everything. I feel like there is never a moment to relax. I’m constantly walking around with a notebook jotting down ideas for stories, shots I like, lighting setups, tricks.”
What is coming up for you? What should fans be looking for?
“I have a lot of releases coming out in the next few months. I’ve been banking this content since this time last year and now I’m finally getting to see it packaged and released.”
